The impact of artificial intelligence in audio-video post-production

The diploma thesis, titled The Impact of Artificial Intelligence in Audio-Video Post-Production, is the result of research into the AI processes that influence the creation and editing of audio-video content. Much of the text describing this field is derived from independent research, as the influence of artificial intelligence in audio-video post-production is continuously evolving.

We are in an era where social media plays a significant role in our lives. It may sound humorous, but it’s often said that if you are not on social media, you simply don’t exist. We’re not far from that reality. Areas such as business, promotion, informational content, advertisements, offerings, and more are moving to these platforms.

To expedite the processes for creating audio-video content and to assist creators who lack prior expertise in audio-video post-production, artificial intelligence steps in as an invaluable tool.

The thesis describes the processes and currently most popular or desired software tools that integrate artificial intelligence. The core role of AI in this domain is to simplify certain processes for creators, which would otherwise require substantial time and increase production costs.

Today, AI can be found across all areas of audio-video post-production, particularly in the creation and editing of content like films, informational media, and content aimed at social networks. Through researching this topic, it’s clear that to produce audio-video content with the help of AI, we use specialized software or various online platforms that allow for content editing.

In the thesis, I have tried to present the current development and processes enabled by AI in post-production as comprehensively as possible.

With the emergence of AI in this field, we encounter both positive and negative aspects. This positions AI with the challenge of addressing or limiting these negative aspects through further development. The fundamental personal finding of this thesis is that AI cannot replace humans, as it lacks the ability for emotional expression.

However, a positive aspect is that the synergy between AI and humans is more than welcome, especially in the field of imagination development. From the research process, it is evident that some AI processes have already advanced to the extent that they can be used in professional audio-video post-production workflows.
