Construction & Civil Engineering
The construction and modernization of infrastructure are extremely important for the smooth course of social processes and integrated social development. The choice of modern construction methods is a key priority.
With the increase in the population in urban settlements or cities, we are faced with an additional burden on infrastructure, which requires the construction of new infrastructure lines or the renovation of existing ones. In urban environments, we are limited by space, which determines the way we build and design.
By placing infrastructure in space, we affect the environment and humans as part of the environment in one way or another. In the construction of underground line infrastructure, two methods of construction are used: the classic method of construction with excavation and construction without excavation.
The purpose of the thesis was to compare the implementation of the classic EKK electrical cable sewer compared with radio-controlled undercutting (HDD) using a practical example from various aspects.
We provided a detailed explanation of the construction technology for the EKK electrical cable sewer system, covering essential aspects such as the technologies, equipment, and work execution. Theoretically, the implementation of classic electro-cable sewerage and the implementation of electro-cable sewerage with under-drilling according to the HDD method are presented.
The implementation of the electric cable sewerage system with under-drilling according to the HDD method on the project replacement of MV KB 20 kV (k-491) Prešernova Arbajterjeva on the section between TP Maistrova Ptuj (t-370) and TP CSUI Ptuj (t-241) is practically presented.
We decided to present both methods of cable ducting to be able to present more detailed differences between them and to make a comparison in terms of costs and environmental impact. Radio-controlled undermining is used to place infrastructure elements in the ground with natural barriers that intersect the straight path of the borehole within already existing other infrastructure elements.
A comparison of conventional (classic) excavation versus radio-controlled HDD undermining on a practical example shows that the choice of technology depends on the specifics of the project.
