Martina Karova, student of the Economist – module Commerce, took part in a three-month  Erasmus+ practical training course in Spain, near Barcelona.

Martina Karova recalls her Erasmus+ experience with a big smile after completing her practical training in Barcelona, Spain. She says that those three months in Spain were the most intense and pivotal in her life as a student and that the decision to venture out on her own into a completely unfamiliar environment turned out to be one of the best she has ever made.

“Spain has captivated me with its vibrant culture, beautiful beaches and friendly people. Together with Lashmie and Dimmy, we have created a real little family. Through our dinners together, night out and travels, we created bonds that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”

Spain taught Martina that life is for adventure. They spontaneously bought tickets from Ibiza and Menorca to Porto and Madrid. Each place offered something new and inspired them in its own way.

Working abroad was not what she had imagined. Erasmus taught her a lot about herself and the world. She learned that cooperation is the key to success, that happiness does not depend on material possessions and that people everywhere are more alike than we think.

“I have acquired new skills that have enabled me to face challenges with greater confidence. I have also become more grateful for all that I have. I returned home a completely different person, full of new experiences, knowledge and friendships. This experience has given me the courage to face new challenges and always strive for my dreams.”
