Production of heat exchanger

In the company where I work, we manufacture various pressure vessels and tanks made of stainless steel and special materials. The company is largely self-sufficient, which means that we manufacture the entire product in our own facility, from construction, cutting, welding to mechanical processing and various surface treatments (pickling, passivation, sandblasting, varnishing). We are aware that with the right approach and quality, as well as a comprehensive solution, we can remain competitive in today’s market.

Among many different products, the company is also involved in the production of heat exchangers for the chemical, pharmaceutical or food industry. We mostly manufacture heat exchangers made of stainless steel, of different sizes and volumes and with different numbers of tubes. We offer a comprehensive solution in production, from strength calculations and construction to final mechanical processing and pressure tests.

Over time, the production of heat exchangers in our company has developed, we use newer production technologies in welding and mechanical processing. By using only these, we managed to bring production to a new level and complete the entire production process in less time and with fewer errors in welding joints.

In the assignment, I will present the complete production of one pair of heat exchangers which are used in the pharmaceutical industry. I will present the process of material specification, material ordering and exchanger construction, material cutting and bending, assembly and welding, where I will specifically touch on the orbital welding of pipes into pipe plates. I will also present the mechanical processing of individual positions and the final product, as well as the pressure test.

I will research new technological solutions for possible faster production of individual assemblies during mechanical processing and locksmith work. I will try to shorten the entire production time of the exchanger so that in the meantime we do not lose quality, but even try to raise it to a higher level and in this way increase the efficiency of production. I will show in more detail mechanical processing of turning and milling, as well as the drilling of the tube plates of the exchanger, and the pressure test after the end of the heat exchanger production
