Študent Inženir spletne produkcije leta 2022 je Alen Hazl

The 2022 Student of the Year award for the Media Production – Web Production programme was awarded to Alen Hazl, who was the most successful and fastest to complete the requirements of the Media Production 2020-2022 Generation Higher Professional Education Programme.

1. What does the title Media Production Student – Online Production Module 2022 mean to you?

I didn’t expect the news, but I am very happy about the title. I see it as a reward for a job well done.

2. Why did you choose to study at Academia Maribor?

As a student at the Secondary Electro-Computer School (SERŠ) in Maribor, I started creating and designing websites and I quickly realised that I was very happy doing it. I decided to study at the Academia SERS because of the opportunity to study web production from a practical field, but it also offers me time to learn web programming on an individual basis (Webflow University and others).

3. What do you enjoy most about your studies?

What I liked most about my studies was the amount of practical training or projects: the Photography Practice, where we borrowed a camera for a long period of time and created different formats following instructions.

4. Where do you see yourself after graduation? 

I am currently doing my practical training at Flowout as a frontend web developer and I would like to stay with the company as I am very happy with the company. However, I would like to work for a bigger foreign company in the future.

5. What advice would you give to prospective students for a successful study?

I would advise future students to find additional information portals alongside their studies to help you understand and master programming – In my field, sometimes the knowledge you get in a lecture is not enough, especially if it is a field that is developing very fast.
