Personalization is the process of tailoring a product or service to meet the specific needs and desires of a target audience, enabling the creation of a more relevant and engaging experience for each individual user.

In the context of an online bookstore, personalization means that the content presented to each customer is customized based on their past interactions, preferences, searches, and reading habits.

The first part of my thesis is dedicated to a theoretical analysis, where I introduced the concept of website personalization and explained what an online bookstore is. I described the differences between a physical store and an online store, focusing on their advantages and disadvantages in the context of selling books.

I concentrated on the study of how a personalized online bookstore can influence customers, examining several categories and types to understand the various ways personalization can affect the customer experience. For the research, I conducted an online survey to gather opinions from other people about the personalization of an online bookstore and to determine what they consider most important for an online bookstore.

This allowed me to successfully design and appropriately personalize the online bookstore in the second part of my thesis.

The second part of the thesis is practical, where I presented the entire process of designing a personalized online bookstore. I detailed the steps taken to generate ideas for the website’s design and the sketches I used to compare different layout options. I created a wireframe for the bookstore layout, which I then used to develop the final appearance of the online bookstore.

I also focused on elements that would tailor the website to the individual user who would be interacting with the bookstore. I also provided a detailed account of how I approached the design of the logo for the online bookstore, focusing on the entire process from initial concepts and sketches to the final graphic representation.

In addition to the logo, I worked on creating a comprehensive visual identity for the online bookstore, which included preparing various visual drafts. In this process, I developed three different designs: one for the packaging that the online bookstore could use for shipping books, and two different bookmarks that could be included with customer orders.
