Academia Maribor, in cooperation with the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Oxford, are offering free masterclasses for Academia’s students. The lectures will take place from 22th of June to 12th of July 2021, online.

In this series of masterclasses, you will learn how building a personal, online presence can change your life, and massively increase your reach and impact. Even if you are not harbouring dreams to become an “influencer”, putting yourself out there online in some capacity is a total no-brainer for building relationships, sharing your ideas and expanding your impact on the world.

In this masterclass, you will explore the ways in which corporations communicate messages about their products using social media platforms and artificial intelligence. You will examine the differences between paid, owned and earned media, as well as social listening and dynamic creative optimisation. The masterclass will also provide insight into digital marketing and associated ethics.

In these sessions you will learn about the capacities that underpin resilience, wellbeing, and top performance, and how to cultivate them first in yourself, then in your team. You will leave with both greater understanding, and practical, effective tools and practices to integrate into your working life.

Words are powerful. The stories we tell about ourselves, have the potential to reinscribe oppressive systems, or to push the world towards positive change. This class will use narrative to think about the goals of their Map the System projects now and into the future. You will learn how to generate creative and analytical media to establish their presence as thought leaders, and how to use narrative to improve their visions for the future. Students will leave the class with at least two outlines of potential pieces, a familiarity with the media landscape and the process of pitching publications, and a strategy for using media to promote their beliefs, their work, and themselves.

This masterclass will focus on capacity building and sustainability for frontline and grassroots communities. The sessions will concentrate on movement building, exploring ways to build allyship and move beyond performativity. Students will explore ways to build leadership skills that understands how to move power, be responsive and ecological.
