Guest lecture by Mirjam Kmetič and Katarina Brezovnik on the ManPower employment agency

As part of the Business Communication course, a joint course of the Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Security Engineering, Software Computing and Network Computing study programmes, we hosted Ms. Mirjam Kmetič, Talent Acquisition Specialist, and Ms. Katarina Brezovnik, IT Talent Acquisition Specialist at the ManPower recruitment agency.

The guest lectures started with a short presentation of ManPower by Mirjam Kmetič. ManpowerGroup Slovenia is a subsidiary of ManpowerGroup, a global corporation with nearly 3,800 offices in more than 80 countries. It is a leader in recruitment and placement, employing more than 4.4 million job seekers every year. It offers innovative and comprehensive recruitment solutions. She continued with a presentation on the labor market, the challenges of finding a job, the selection procedures for finding a job and finding employees, the challenges of finding a job in the IT field, and how to approach a job search correctly and efficiently, presented by Katarina Brezovnik. They presented the ManPower job portal in more detail and gave students some useful tips on how to be more successful in an interview before the interview itself: preparing for the interview – refreshing technical skills, reviewing the job description in detail, preparing examples and questions, practicing communication skills, body language and having a good presence on social networks.
