As 2024 draws to a close, so does the Erasmus+ project eVETbikes, which has been running under the leadership of Hacettepe University (Turkey) since December 2022.
The project has served as a vital educational initiative in the e-bike sector in a modern world increasingly focused on sustainability and environmental solutions. The seven project partners, including Academia, trained new generations of professionals in maintaining and repairing e-bikes – a growing necessity in light of the increasing demand for these sustainable transport options.
Together with the lead partner, EGO (Turkey), Guvercinlik Hasan Gulhan MTAL (Turkey), EU&PRO (Czech Republic), Liceul Tehnologic de Transporturi Auto Targoviste (Romania), and Academia (Slovenia) developed high-quality learning modules. These modules combine theoretical knowledge and practical skills tailored to the needs of the e-bike industry and the labor market.
Participants in the project activities gained insights into e-bike technology, safety standards, and relevant legislation. Known for their positive impact on reducing carbon footprints, e-bikes have become a symbol of sustainable mobility. Through promoting e-bike use and training professionals, the eVETbikes project has also contributed to reducing environmental impact and combating climate change.
As part of the project, comprehensive manuals were created and made available on the eVETbikes platform. These resources provide valuable information for teachers, trainers, students, and anyone interested in sustainable mobility. The platform serves as an all-encompassing resource where users can access learning materials, connect with peers, and collaborate with other professionals in this rapidly growing sector.
An essential aspect of the eVETbikes project was the organization of promotional events in partner countries. These events facilitated the exchange of experiences and best practices among various stakeholders, including educational institutions, businesses, and local communities. They provided excellent opportunities for networking, collaboration, and spreading knowledge about e-bikes and their role in sustainable mobility.
