Athlete Friendly Education

Application procedure

Students who have obtained one of the following categorizations from the Olympic Committee of Slovenia (or a foreign sport association) may apply for the status of a categorized athlete or coach of a categorized athlete:

Olympic-class athlete;
World-class athlete;
International class athlete;
Prospect-class athlete;
National Class Athlete;
Youth Class Athlete.

Foreign students and students with disabilities who, according to the criteria of national sports associations or the sports associations for persons with disabilities, have fulfilled identical conditions as those set out in the Conditions, rules and criteria for the registration and categorization of athletes in the Republic of Slovenia.

For more information on the conditions for obtaining the status, the required documentation and possible adjustments, please refer to the Regulations on Special Conditions for the Education of Categorized Athletes and Coaches of Categorized Athletes of Academia, College of Short-Cycle Higher Education.

Students that wish to apply for a student-athlete or a student-coach status must apply:

by 20th of October, if they have already obtained the status of a categorized athlete from the Olympic Committee of Slovenia by that date;
or no later than the 28th of February of the current academic year, if they have obtained the status of categorized athlete on a later date.
